I wanted to try a technique I saw on TV where you put a blob of ink on paper and blow it around on the paper with a drinking straw. This is what I ended up with. I'm not too sure about the background, I like it, but I also think it could be better. I used the pallete knife to make it, which I think I'm getting the hang of. When I started the ink part, it got to looking like a tree, so I went from there. Tell me what you think!
ooh! You know when dandelions are all puffy and white? That's kinda what this looks like to me. It would be cool if you did something like this that kinda looks like a bunch are blowing in the wind!
*wiping tears of joy Brilliant. You've used my two favorite colors. Black and red. It's completly spontaneous and random, just the way I like it. It reminds me of that smashing tree thing in the Harry Potter movies. I know you didn't do it on purpose but don't mess with the background and it doesn't need any light sourcing. *shaking fist Don't change a thing. *whispering I need to try something like this out in the future.
I really like the background. What if you took whiteout pen with a fine tip and put a few white lines on the edges of the branches to show highlights from an imaginary light source...?? Just a thought...
